With the cosmetic industry striving to produce safer products, with novel claims to differentiate themselves in the marketplace, scientific resources must be highly focused on better testing products for their activity on the skin while simultaneously meeting all product claims. Establishing common criteria for justification of claims is a challenging aspect of product development since it needs to be customized for the purpose of use while matching the particular type of product.
