The Center for Professional Advancement (CfPA) is dedicated to
providing accredited technical training and continuing education
throughout the world. We are one of the largest non-degree awarding
organizations offering professional level accredited training courses in a
variety of formats including public training, customized onsite technical
training (Client-Site), and interactive online technical training.
Since our founding in 1967, we have successfully trained nearly 500,000
professionals from small and large companies, government and academia. Our
prominent reputation has earned us high recognition by thousands of
companies who consider us to be an integral part of their technical

COURSES
Our extensive curriculum of technical training courses - which includes
over 450 courses in 18 applied industrial technologies - cover every
aspect of an operation from planning and design, research and
manufacturing to maintenance and management, and beyond. These technical
courses, which include hundreds of pharmaceutical
training and biotechnology
training courses, not only cover basic concepts but "how to" apply
these concepts, as well as the new advances, cutting-edge technology and
current regulations.

course - whether through a public training course, an onsite technical

Our short course technical training format provides for maximum

an atmosphere that encourages interaction between participants and

Offered at your location and at your convenience, The Center for
Professional Advancement's Client-Site Division will bring any of CfPA's
450 public courses to your team for customized
onsite technical training, or

ONLINE TECHNICAL TRAINING
CfPA's Online Technical Training and Webinar program is a perfect
complement to our public and onsite technical training (Client-Site)

CfPA HISTORY -
CELEBRATING 45 YEARS OF PROVEN RESULTS!
The year 2012 marks an important milestone for The Center for
Professional Advancement (CfPA): Our 45th Anniversary!
In 1967, The Center for Professional Advancement's founder, Dr. Saul
Gordon, determined that a new approach to continuing professional
education was needed for practicing scientists and engineers at the post
baccalaureate level. Although occasional technical training seminars and
courses were offered during the summer season on the campuses of a few
universities, there was no central location where a broadly based
curriculum of professional technical education was regularly offered on a
year round basis in the intensive short course format.
From his former academic, government and industrial consulting
experience, Dr. Gordon knew that for such education to be relevant, and of
practical value, it was mandatory that the technical training course be
pragmatically oriented, cover very specific well-defined subject areas,
and be taught by professionals actively engaged in the field. This meant
that such technical training courses would have to be organized and
offered outside the confines of the conventional university curriculum.
Furthermore, a mechanism had to be established which would constantly
search out significant new technical areas or changes in established areas
and refine that material into viable course subjects suitable for CfPA's
intensive instructional format. Since this could only be done in concert
with professionals engaged in the field, it required establishing a
network of practicing scientists and engineers located throughout
industry, government, universities, and in private consulting practices
who could assist in the primary task of defining these significant new
technologies, and then serve as the course organizers and principal
lecturers.
It was Dr. Gordon's insight and unique approach that gave CfPA its
special place in the world of continuing professional education then, and,
now 45 years later, it is that same approach that continues to place CfPA
as the international leader in technical accredited training. No matter
