Description
In today’s business climate effective managers are those who
are adaptable and flexible. Today’s business climate is
continuously undergoing change; i.e., government regulations,
compliance issues, diversity in the workforce, technology,
total quality management, re-engineering, attitudes and team
building versus the hierarchical structure. Most
pharmaceutical managers are promoted from within the ranks.
As scientists and technical professionals, they have
demonstrated the technical skills and knowledge needed to
get the job done. Now, as managers, their technical, “handson”
involvement is significantly reduced. It is replaced by the
manager’s role of directing human resources to maximum
potential. This course will provide the fundamentals of
effective management of technical professionals. Heavy
concentration will be given to the four components of the
management process: planning, organizing, leading and
controlling. Participants will learn the day-to-day management
proficiencies needed to get more done and build a motivated
environment in which their people can perform.
All instruction provided will be practical and easily transferable
to the participant’s job in a highly interactive participative and
interactive learning environment.
