Who Should Attend
The course is intended for personnel such as
process designers and engineers who are involved
in the design, retrofitting, specification, operation,
maintenance and optimization of fired process
heaters in the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical
and allied industries.
Description
This course will provide an insight into the basics of
thermal and mechanical design of furnaces, and the
safe and efficient operation of this equipment.
Emphasis will be on common design methods,
consideration of fuel type, combustion chemistry
and heat release, and combustion air supply and
control. Mechanical factors will include burners,
refractories, instrumentation, tube design, and
corrosion and fouling mitigation. Techniques to
improve efficiency, operate safely and meet
emission guidelines will be reviewed.
