Description
This course has been designed to cover the major aspects of aerosol technology and to instruct you in the successful formulation of aerosols for use in personal care products (deodorants, hair spray and shaving lathers), household products (room deodorants and disinfectants), automotive products (cleaners, lubricants and refrigerants), paints, food products (including pan sprays), industrial/institutional products, insect sprays, and miscellaneous products. Lectures will consist of all aspects of aerosol formulation including: basic techniques, propellant theory and practice, component choices, physicochemical problems, quality control and regulations. Regulations and restrictions of aerosol products by federal, state and local governments will be covered on the fourth day, together with toxicology and safety considerations.
