Burton A. Amernick is a partner in the law firm of Connolly, Bove, Lodge, & Hutz and is currently active in private practice, specializing in patent and trademark causes. He was a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office before beginning private practice in 1968.
Mr. Amernick received the B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland and the J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was admitted to the Heuisler Honor Society. Mr. Amernick is admitted to the bars of the State of Maryland, District of Columbia, U.S. Supreme Court, Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Claims, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. T. Gene Dillahunty is Executive Vice President of EarthRenew, Inc., an environmental technology company. Prior to joining EarthRenew in 2004, Mr. Dillahunty was a partner in the law firm of Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis, LLC, where he specialized in worldwide patent procurement programs, intellectual property development strategies, technology licensing and litigation. He has also been a guest lecturer on intellectual property at George Washington University Graduate School of Business and Management and at Stanford Law School. He began his patent law career in 1965 as a Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
