Dr. A.K.S. Murthy; Technology Fellow, The Linde Group
Dr. A.K.S. Murthy is a Technology Fellow at Linde Engineering
in Murray Hill, New Jersey, responsible for technical
development and technoeconomic assesment of novel
technologies for the production and applications of industrial
gases such as hydrogen, syngas and oxygen. He also supports
business development around the world in the oil, gas and
chemical market sectors. His prior experience includes
managing process engineering at Jacobs Engineering in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana and various technical and management
positions in Honeywell in Morristown, New Jersey. As a
consultant to petroleum, pharmaceutical and chemical
industries, he has provided expertise in the areas of Reactor
Design, distillation and “Process Scale-up”. His hydrogenation
experience consists of the design and trouble shooting of
commercial reactors as well as lab and pilot plant scale process
development.
Murthy (as he prefers to be called) holds a Sc.D. degree in
Chemical Engineering from the Columbia University in New
York. He is a Professional Engineer, registered in New Jersey.
As an Adjunct Professor for over ten years, Murthy has taught
graduate courses in Chemical Engineering at the Columbia
University in New York and the New Jersey Institute of
Technology in Newark. He has also directed courses on
Gasification, Nitration and Amination Technologies, offered by
The Center for Professional Advancement. He holds fifteen
patents and is the author of over thirty publications.
