AN ONLINE TRAINING FORMAT
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for food industry microbiologists and QA/QC personnel who are interested in learning more
about computer models for microbial behavior in foods.
Description
This 90-minute online training course provides an introduction to the topic of predictive modeling for the food
microbiologist. It covers the three basic types of models (primary, secondary and tertiary). It also discusses
the steps used in the creation of models, as well as their proper use and potential for misuse.
Module 1:
Modeling history and overview
Steps in modeling building
Types of models
Module 2:
Primary models
Secondary models
Tertiary models
Module 3:
Creating models
Using models
Limitations of models
Models available online
