Description
This course provides an orientation and understanding of bulk tablet production for process operators and first-line supervisors. The course begins with the basic aspects of tablet formulating and the unit operations necessary to produce production quantities. All aspects of granulating, compressing, coating, printing, cleaning and documenting will be covered. The application of cGMP, as applied to tableting operations, will also be presented.

Important supporting operations such as tool and die maintenance, tablet inspection, basic validation principles, sanitation fundamentals, proper materials weighing techniques and equipment automation will be presented.

The course includes two workshops and discussion periods between faculty and course participants. Problem-solving sessions are held on both an open and private basis.
