Who Should Attend
The course would be of value to those working with
cosmetic/toiletry products focused on antiperspirants and
deodorant applications, as well as to those in industry and
research laboratories interested in a basic understanding of
the technologies and clinical aspects of the application of
these products.
Though the course is intended primarily for entry level
development technologists, the broad range of materials
covered should provide an up-to-date refresher for
experienced individuals. Chemists, microbiologists, analytical
scientists and process engineers from the field of cosmetics,
toiletries, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering and food industries
will also benefit from the opportunity to understand more
about regulations, formulations and process parameters for
an FDA regulated product.
Description
This course is intended to provide a comprehensive review of
the regulatory and physiological fundamentals of
antiperspirants and deodorants. There will be significant
emphasis on the chemistry of antiperspirant and deodorant
actives, how they function to inhibit odor or restrict sweat
production, what are the acceptable protocols and statistics
for measuring clinical efficacy of these actives and the basic
parameters for developing functional products that match
consumer needs.
The instructors, both with many years of expertise in this
area, will present the latest available information and trends
regarding the field of antiperspirants and deodorants. Though
the course will be structured, there will be open discussion
and opportunities to address the specific problems and needs
of participants.
