Description
In the current environment of establishing regulations and environmental issues awareness, an effort is put together to offer guidance to
individuals in the industry who are concerned with present approaches and future implications. With the unique position of the cosmetic and
personal care industry of animal testing ban and emergence of REACH, this course is designed to present key parties involved, their positions,
market leads and sources for information. Compounds that are applied to the skin and are likely to absorb either UV or visible light, and are
used in day time can potentially cause photo-toxicity reaction.
Photo-toxicity reaction, irritating or sensitizating in nature occurs only when the potentially toxic compound is exposed to light. While photoirritation
does not involve the acquired immune system, photo-allergy requires the recruitment of humoral immune system and builds long
lasting memory markers for an individual. The core of this 90-minute accredited training is focused on the understanding of current available
methodologies to test for safety, their scope and limitations.
