Eric S. Abrutyn, Senior Principle Scientist, Kao Brands
Eric S. Abrutyn is a senior principle scientist at Kao Brands with over 30 years experience in the personal care industry. Besides his extensive knowledge of antiperspirants, skin and hair care and ingredients used in them, he is the chair of the International Cosmetic Ingredient Committee (with over 12 year involvement on the committee).
Mr. Abrutyn received a Bachelor of Science degree from Long Island University, C.W. Post College and a Master in Chemistry degree from State University of New York, New Paltz. He is an active member of the society of cosmetic chemist (SCC) since 1975, attaining a Fellow status while holding numerous positions at the local and national level. Mr. Abrutyn is the author of an extensive collection of article and books on the subject of Antiperspirants, Silicone technology, and Polymer Controlled Release for Skin and Hair. Along with over 15 patents on a variety of personal care subjects, Mr. Abrutyn has instructed courses on silicone antiperspirants and technology.
