Description
The course will detail the major areas of aerosol technology relating to the formulation of a variety of pharmaceutical metered dose inhaler (MDI) aerosols, dry powder inhalers (DPIs), metered pumps, and nebulized systems, and applications of these pharmaceutical dosages to lung and nasal deposition.
Topics discussed include propellant theory and practice, physical-chemical aspects of formulating, packaging selection, product optimization, aerosol plume analysis, inhalation aerosol deposition, product testing, and specifications and equipment to manufacture these dosages. The handling, formulating and storing alternative of non-CFC propellants, that minimize ozone depletion, as replacements for currently used halocarbons will also be covered.
